PRINCIPAL'S NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents/Guardians,
How fast time flies, here we are already at a start of a new academic year. I would like to wish a warm welcome to all our new parents.
I hope you all had a good summer holiday and like us, are looking forward to a happy and successful year for your son, and the school.
All our Year 11 boys who left in July passed at least one GCSE. All parents will receive a copy of their sons reading, spelling, comprehension and SAT results, these should be with you in the next few weeks.
At the end of term we had our 50th Birthday celebration, it rained from 7am to 7:30pm, but even with the bad weather, we had a really good day. Many ex-teachers, pupils, staff and friends of the school turned up. The children of our co-founder, George Brice, also attended including one coming over from New Zealand.
Our extended car park is now finished and in use and the finishing touches are being made to the installation of Internet access to all our teaching areas.
Staff had an interesting Inset training day on formally accrediting progress in Key Stage 3, run by our Education Consultant Terry McKenzie.
A few reminders for parents:-
| a) | All boys need to wear school uniform including black shoes. |
| b) | No hooded tops are allowed in school. |
| c) | Toys, sweets, chewing gum etc must not be brought into school. |
| d) | Please label all your son’s clothes, especially jumpers, coats and P.E. kit. |
| e) | Please do not allow your son to bring games consoles into school. When boys have choices, they may bring in games software or handheld consoles, however we do not allow violent of fighting games at all. All computer games must be age appropriate. |

A reminder to existing parents and for our new parents that we are always available if you have and concerns about your son’s education, care and well being. There is usually someone in the office from 8:00am to 5:00pm
